DJC Youth All-Stars Selected to Perform at the 2011 Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festival

After just one year of existence, the DJC Youth All-Stars have been selected to perform in the 2011 Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festival! They are one of a select number of American school jazz groups invited to perform at Montreux. Last year only 3 American school groups appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival! The Denver Jazz Club is the main sponsor of our traditional jazz youth all-star band, which was created by music educator, Dr. Ed Cannava. Over the last couple of years such artists as Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Pat Matheny, Phil Collins, Quincy Jones, BB King, and George Benson performed Montreux.

The All-Stars have also been invited to perform at the 19th Annual Montreux Meets Brienz Jazz Festival. If you are interested in donating to the DJC Youth All-Stars, please contact Ed Cannava, Director, at [email protected] or 303-328-7277.
